What happens to your answers
Parley is opt-in. Nothing is stored until you tick the box and start an interview.
What's stored
Your messages, the interviewer's messages, the interviewer's running notes, your quote choice, and an email or call request only if you give one. Your session is a random id in a cookie on your device, not an account.
Who reads it
Me, Justin Johnson, to write Run Data Run. Anything you agree to have quoted may appear in the piece, credited the way you chose. It's for Run Data Run only and isn't used for anything else.
Where it runs
Parley runs on a rented cloud server, kept separate from everything else I run. Your answers are stored there.
How the interviewer works
The interviewer is an AI model run by an outside provider. Your messages are sent to it to produce each reply. When the run closes, your interview answers go to an AI model to help me pull out themes. Your name, email and call details are not sent to it.
Abuse protection
Your IP address is hashed with a secret salt that changes daily, and the hash is stored with your session only to rate-limit abuse. The IP address itself is never stored.
How long
Transcripts, emails and call requests are deleted automatically 90 days after your interview. A quote I use stays in the published piece.
Deleting your answers
Use the "Delete my answers" button on the interview page, any time. Or reply to any Run Data Run email and I'll delete them by hand.
